IRRIG8: Drip Micro Calibration

This calibration tool is designed to meet the IrrigationNZ: NZ Irrigation System Performance Assessment Code of Practice – Part C: Micro Irrigation. Download the code for more guidance. For a more comprehensive system review, see the Drip Micro Evaluation tool.

NOTE: IRRIG8 does not store your data or keep any records. Leaving or refreshing this page will delete all your data, so print reports and export the data or graphs if you want to save them. To have a copy you can reload and edit, download the Save Session csv file and save it. This tool lets you upload it again to automatically repopulate all your data.

Beta version: See disclaimer at foot of page

💧 Drip & Micro Irrigation Quick Check v1.0.0

Station calibration following the IrrigationNZ Code of Practice Part C, Section 2

💾 Save or Reload a Check

Save everything entered on all tabs, plus the results, to a CSV file on your computer. Load it later to fill the tool back in and recalculate.

Files stay on your computer; nothing is uploaded to the website. Loading replaces what is currently entered.

⚙️ System & Emitters
Optional. Measured flows are compared with it.
🎯 Irrigation Target
The depth each irrigation should apply. Used for all stations unless a station has its own.
Unticked: every station counts equally (12 samples each). Ticked: larger stations count for more.
🏭 Headworks Pressures

With the system running. These help find the cause of poor results; they are not used to calculate flows.

🌱 Stations (Blocks)

A station is the area controlled by one valve. In each station collect water from one emitter at the beginning, middle and end of the lateral nearest the inlet, two middle laterals and the lateral furthest from the inlet: 12 samples. Collect for at least 5 minutes or 250 mL.

Pressures (optional) at the beginning, middle and end of the first and last laterals, and at the station off-take, help explain poor results.

What is calculated

  • For each station: mean emitter flow, application rate, applied depth, emission uniformity and an adjusted run time for the target depth
  • Field uniformity across all stations, and with run times matched
  • Pressure and flow patterns that point to likely causes of poor results
